Barking, Havering & Redbridge Hospital, Essex
The foundation has funded a new piece of mobile multi sensory equipment for their Children’s In Patient Unit.  This piece of equipment will be mobile and therefore can be utilised throughout the Unit.  It not only acts as a distraction, but also prepares the patient for treatment and calms them during the procedure. The In Patient Unit has more than 3,600 admissions each year with patients being treated for a wide range of conditions including chemotherapy, sickle cell, chronic asthma and diabetes.  This equipment is therefore hugely relevant to this patient group and the fact that it is on wheels means it can be used in various rooms around the Unit.
