The Foundation had given funds towards a new family accommodation facility which will enable the hospital to accommodate more parents who need to stay near and be with their children at this stressful time. Every year over 9000 parents and siblings use these facilities. On top of this there are approximately 50 parents sleeping by the bedside of their sick child every night. These parents have access to the accommodation for a shower and to make themselves a cup of tea in peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the wards. The Foundation is currently funding a House Keeping Service which is provided 7 days a week and ensures that there is always a welcoming face and clean rooms at all times.
